I often think that if our clients could see what happens behind the scenes at Loving Events, they would never look at event styling quite the same way again.
When you walk into a beautifully styled wedding or event, you see the flowers, fabric, candles and beautiful details.
What you don’t see is everything that happened before that moment.
It starts with a conversation. We get to know our clients, understand their vision, look at the venue and begin turning an idea into a plan.
From there comes the design, sourcing, purchasing and preparation. We liaise with venues, arrange site visits, check access and timings, measure spaces and make sure every element will work within the venue.
We source fabrics, flowers, candles, structures and styling pieces, carefully considering the size, colour, quality and overall design.
Then comes the preparation. Fabrics are measured, cut, stitched, cleaned and ironed. Flowers are ordered, conditioned and prepared. Candles, structures, accessories and equipment are all checked carefully. Battery are tested, tools are packed and fixing equipment are prepared where needed.
Our team is also carefully planned for each event. Larger installations may require additional hands for building and rigging, while other events require more time for detailed styling and finishing touches.
Then comes the event day, often starting very early.
We load the vehicles, carefully checking that everything is accounted for, travel to the venue, unload and begin transforming the space.
Structures go up. Fabric is installed and dressed. Flowers are positioned. Candles are placed. Table details are styled and every finishing touch is carefully considered.
And, of course, things don’t always go exactly to plan. Sometimes fabric falls differently, a structure needs moving or something simply looks better somewhere else.
We adapt, problem solve and find a solution.
Then comes the moment we’ve been working towards, our clients walking into the room.
Seeing their reaction when they see their vision come to life is something I never take for granted. It’s why all the early mornings, long days and behind the scenes work are so worth it.
And when the celebration ends, our work continues.
We dismantle, pack everything away, load the vehicles and return to the studio. Fabrics are cleaned and cared for, accessories and candle holders are checked, candles are inspected and structures and equipment are assessed for any damage or repairs needed.
Everything is then organised and stored carefully, ready for the next event.
So, is it just flowers and fabric?
Not quite.
Behind every beautiful room is a huge amount of planning, care, experience, preparation and teamwork.
For me, event styling is about more than creating something beautiful. It’s about taking care of the details so our clients can simply be present and enjoy the moments that matter most.
Because these memories cannot be recreated.
And that is why we care just as much about what happens behind the scenes as what our clients see.
